Day two is in the books here in Montgomery, West Virginia! Today was a day where we able to spend some time in the town of Montgomery getting to know the area better.
After a delicious breakfast, complete with bacon and eggs (thanks, Amy and Barb!), we worshiped with the congregation of Montgomery Presbyterian Church. It was such a blessing to share a worship space with the congregation that is housing us!

Following worship and lunch our exploration of Montgomery was to include a trip to the local city pool, but swimming in a pool with no water is rather difficult, so we had to make alternate plans.
Luckily for us there is a local university, West Virginia Tech, directly across the street from the church. So, we grabbed a kickball, a frisbee, a wiffle ball and bat, and we made our way over to Martin Field for some (friendly) competition.
The competition kicked off with an intense game of Ultimate Frisbee.
The field is being cleared and the teams are being decided upon.
The competition was fierce!
Although, as with every competition, a champion must be crowned. Way to go Awesome Opossums!
The competition continued with a game of Kickball!
Once again, sides were chosen.
Pitching (or the lack thereof by some of us) made all of the difference in today's game.
In a lopsided game, the eventual Kickball champions were crowned and we made our way back to church to refuel and refresh for dinner.
Tonight's menu? Lasagna! However, it was not just any lasagna. This was homemade straight from the kitchen of Missy Estabrook! Thanks, Missy! It was DELICIOUS!
The day was capped off by an epic game of Sardines. There will likely be many more games of Sardines to come. In a three story church, there are LOTS of places to hide! Don't forget your flashlight!
Tomorrow will be a our first work day in Montgomery, we are off to bed to prepare ourselves for an incredible day of mission work!
SQUAD OUT!
